is it very hard to become an astronaut in India?

You will never get an easy road to success every time, you need to work hard and consistently to achieve something in life. Likewise, it is not easy to become an astronaut in India. So far the Indian agency hasn’t sent astronauts to space but the first Indian crewed space mission is scheduled in December 2021. So if you want to become an astronaut then your dream can be fulfilled in near future.
Eligibility required to become an Astronaut:-

The candidate has to be a citizen of India, with proper documents or ID proof

You need to be physically & medically fit with normal blood pressure and perfect vision sharpness to become an Astronaut
Educational qualification required to become an Astronaut is a degree of Bachelor’s or Post graduation or a Ph.D. in the STEM or Aeronautical or Aerospace Engineering, there are many colleges, universities which provide different courses on Aeronautical and Aerospace engineering. (most of the time they prefer to select an Air force personnel as Astronaut as they have the basic skills and experiences)
The candidate must be fluent in English Language, it helps them in communicating with foreigners
Must have a good experience in flying
Must be physically capable to stay calm and strong enough during an emergency
Have good observational skills & multi-tasking ability

If you are planning to join ISRO, then you need to have experience in aerospace engineering or engineering in any field, science, medicine, biology, or computer science. And to join ISRO you need to clear the Joint Entrance exam which is organized by the IITs.
Astronaut’s s salary begins from Rs. 50,000 to some lakhs per month. Along with this they also get medical benefits, travel allowances, and housing facilities.

It is not that easy to become an astronaut. You need to complete 2 years of basic training that includes both physical training and classroom studying. Set of skills required to become Astronaut are English Proficiency, Flying Experience, Psychological Strength, Observation skills, Practical Knowledge etc. To become Astronaut you have to complete Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree or Post Graduation in the STEM field or Aeronautical or Aerospace Engineering.
