Hello Soumyadeep,
Look, Being an alumna of the same college, I will try to give you an honest review and a broad perspective of all factors.Considering you rank firstly you can easily get CSE.
The education system KIIT is a bit strict for CSE students, however overall you will definitely find some leniency. Teachers are well experienced and teaching style of most of the teachers are supportive and informative if you attend classes attentively. By the end of the semester, you are going to need 75% attendance to appear for the end semester exam. So you are definitely going to get a lot of opportunity in your field to show your talent and learn from it such as professional training, workshops, fest competition etc.
The infrastructure of CSE department is also quite impressive, hostels are exactly in front of the department, so you won't need to wake up one or two hours earlier to get ready for the classes. Labs are also in a quite good condition. So whatever you are going to pay as Course fee, It will be worth it. As they provide quite good facilities. Classes have centralised AC, Libraries are open for 24*7.
Now most important thing, Placements. Placements are the reason why most of us join any college. Considering the placements of last few years. Placements of CSE, IT department is good. For branches like Mech, Civil, Electrical its worse. Most of the companies which visit KIIT are from CSE or IT background. Average package these companies provides is 3.5 lakh per annum.
In end, I would say that If you join here you will definitely enjoy your four years of your college life here. Still, you need to perform better in studies to get placements in good companies, Because CGPA does matter for freshers. Otherwise, if you are lucky you can still get a job.
Hope you find this information useful. Have a great future ahead.
