It completely on your aim, your scores this season, and your confidence level. These are the main factors that one should consider while deciding.

  1. Age: If age is on your side, waiting for another attempt or waiting till you get one of the best institutes, is very easy.
  2. Responsibilities: If you don’t have a lot of responsibilities on your head, you are at ease and can wait for another attempt.
  3. A stable job: If you have a full-time job and there is no immediate need to start your MBA, you can take another shot
  4. Confidence: If you think that you’ll definitely get a far better institute in the next attempt, it makes sense to wait. However, even if there is 1% doubt or the jump is not going to be significant, you should not wait.
  5. Opportunity cost: If you wait for another year, do you make a loss? What’s the opportunity cost of not doing your MBA?
  6. Specialization: If you want to do a niche course and you think that waiting for another year will get you there, you can wait.

Ultimately, it depends on what you do during and posts your MBA. The decision is going to be extremely personal. I recommend taking as many views as you want and talking to people. But decide what you think is the best option based on your current situation and goals.

Hope this helps! All the best :)
