Let's tackle this question through some key factors. JEE Mains is more dependent on the time factor. The more quick you are at problem solving then the more easier it becomes. Generally in JEE Mains, a question would not involve more than a single concept so it the more vast your knowledge is the more useful it would be. Once you find the concept involved in that question it would be just the problem solving left which generally wouldn’t be lengthy as lengthy as in Advanced.

Coming to JEE Advanced, here the number of questions decreases, because it would take more time to solve each question, as every question is has interlinked concepts. This has a related tie-in to the level of questions as well. With a basic knowledge of concepts, one might be able to solve questions in Mains, but in Advanced, that might not be the case.

So, in a nutshell, Advanced is more application oriented, with a thorough understanding of most concepts required to solve a question. The number of questions in Mains are more than advanced, but the level and hence the difficutly of Advanced is higher than Mains.

Hope this helped!

Hello aspirant!!
JEE Mains and JEE Advanced are both national level exam. However JEE advanced is more difficult than JEE Mains.
JEE Mains exam questions are based on textbook and  involve normal thinking for problem solving.
Though number of questions  in JEE Advanced  exam are reduced but it requires high thinking order and deep knowledge of concepts.

Hope it helps.

Hey friend!

JEE Mains is determined to obtain a deeper understanding of the basic concepts of 11th and 12th class subjects. Whereas Advanced has subjects other than 11th and 12th. It focuses on evaluating the abilities of candidates on the basis of their problem-solving skills. IIT JEE Main is conducted twice a year by NTA for colleges such as NITs, GFTIs, IIITs and other engineering colleges. Whereas IIT JEE Advanced is conducted by IITs themselves for admission to all IITs. T Toappear on JEE Advanced, a candidate must appear on JEE Main.

All the best friend!

Hello there,
Toughness of any exam depends on your preparation. If you can prepare well, then you will find it quite easy. You need to solve the previous year question papers atleast twice so that you get a good idea of the trending questions. JEE Main is not as tough as JEE Advanced. JEE Main requires direct formula for solving the questions while in advanced the questions are bit twisted with multiple correct answers. So it's a bit confusing and tougher than JEE Main.
Hope this information helps you.
Good luck!!
