KVPY exam is held by IISc in two stages:

1. Aptitude Test
2. Personal Interview Test

Students who qualify the aptitude test are eligible to appear for interview test. Final merit list is prepared on the basis of student's marks in the aptitude test (75%) and interview test (25%).

• SX: for students pursuing Science and currently in Class 12th
• SB: for students pursuing a programme in Basic Science and currently in the first year of graduation

KVPY Merit List is prepared by considering the scores obtained by the candidate in the Aptitude test and Interview.The evaluation is based on 75% marks of Aptitude test and 25% of performance in interview.
