No, Madan Mohan Malaviya University of Technology - MMMUT is a government institute approved by the Government of Uttar Pradesh.It is approved by the AICTE and the UGC. It is a state university established by the Government of Uttar Pradesh in 2013 as a non-affiliating, teaching, and research university after the reconstitution of the Madan Mohan Malaviya Engineering College, Gorakhpur, which was founded in 1962.
