Yes, ideally Maths is compulsory subject in any branch of Engineering, including Biotechnology. In other Institutions or Universities, that admit students from Biology background as well on Board Exam merit, there certain basic mathematics course are usually practised.
Hopefully this will help you.

B. Tech Biotech students have a vast scope as they can work in sectors of pharmaceuticals, agriculture, healthcare, food processing, nutrition, animal science, and environmental conservation. Not in terms of opportunities, even salary packages of biotechnology professionals are lucrative.
Thank you.
Dear,
Any B.Tech stream does has maths as major subject in 1st two years because its B.Tech so we should have knowledge about various things kinda fundementals of electrical engineering, engineering graphics, physics, chemistry etc. S ome where in our core biotechnology we get to deal with this things, maths in case of doing calculations starting from molarity, normality to molar ratio conversions, probability of genes and statistical way of presenting results.
Same as in case of physics, chemistry, engineering graphics etc. But maths in biotechnology will be simple compared to other B.Tech streams.
Hope this helps!
