Hi,
Mathematics is not compulsory for most of the M.Sc. Biotech courses. It may vary as per the syllabus of each institute. There may be Biostatistics in some of the Universities/colleges. If you consider all the Universities under the DBT funded MSc biotechnology programs (those admitted on the GAT-B score (Former JNU-CEEB)), have a 2 credit course on basics of Mathematics and Statistics.
Its not compulsory but basic mathematics would be helpful if you are interested in process part of biotechnology (i.e. upstream and downstream processes) which form a major part of research and development in Biotechnology. Because any research would involve working on processes.
Hope this helps.
Good luck.
