Applied Mathematics has been specially designed for students willing to learn Mathematics along with Social Sciences and commercial studies. It deals with practical applications of Mathematics. It includes topics like Logical Reasoning,
Number series, Coding, decoding and odd man out, direction tests, blood relations, syllogism etc., which are not a part of the syllabus for Pure Mathematics. However, similarities are there in between the syllabus of Pure Mathematics and Applied Mathematics. The major difference lies in more scientific utility of the former and more practical utility of the latter. So, hope you are able to figure out the differences.

But all the schools following CBSE may not provide every subject combination available in CBSE curriculum, depending on the availability of teachers, interest ratio of the students and other factors. So, can you provide me the name of your school? And did you have Mathematics in your Class 11th? If yes, which one? Pure or Applied? The subject code for Applied Mathematics is - 0840
