Is Mechanical engineering a good option in India in the coming years?
Hi there!
There are still tons of opportunities for a engineer .
Production - There are quite few manufacturing industries who take mechanical engineers for production. Companies like Triveni turbines and Greenspan come to my mind. My friend got placed in Triveni turbines through an open interview albeit he was from a tier 2 college.
Designing - you'll alright go towards the designing route and be placed in top companies like Rolls Royce. Although, If this is often the road you would like to settle on , i might advice you to try to to the masters from a reputed IIT.
Teaching - Teaching line of open to all. Go for the Masters, then PhD then submit some thesis. You can alright become a professor in an IIT.
Software related - there is a lot of demand for mechanical engineers who know softwares like CREO, ANSYS etc. And they are fun too. You can easily earn them via YouTube. It will definitely help once you are trying to find such quite jobs.
Research field - Want to travel towards research field? Do PhD in that field. Or otherwise join companies like DRDO and ISRO and become a scientist.
Other options - If you would like to travel out of your field of experience you'll choose MBA, job in PSU and other jobs. It's never too late to seek out out what exactly does one want.
Well you've got other options like becoming a get up comedian or starting a begin company. And they are trending too.
Decide what you want.
Thank You.
