The Chaitanya Bharathi Educational Society (CBES) founded the Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Technology (MGIT) at Gandipet, Hyderabad, in 1997, with an affiliation to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh. MGIT's campus covers 30 acres and has a built-up area of 2,50,787 square feet. The college offers eight undergraduate programmes in B.Tech (Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical & Electronics, Electronics & Communication, Mechatronics, Metallurgical & Materials Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering) and four postgraduate programmes in M.Tech (Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical & Electronics, Electronics & Communication, Mechatronics, Metallurgical & Materials Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering). The college is NAAC A accredited with a 30 acres campus area.For BTech course the admission is provided on the basis of TS EAMCET . The college have most seats in BTech CSE and ECE course i.e., 180 seats and for rest of the courses there are 60 seats.
