The level of MHCET for engineering admissions is going to get tougher and at par with JEE from 2018, to help students prepare well for both state and national level entrance exams, the Maharashtra state government has decided to raise the standard of the state CET from this year.

But you should not take the additional pressure of it right now and concentrate on your JEE Preparation because if you can prepare well for JEE Main then you will be able to catch up any level of MHT CET.

Yes, MHT CET is based on HSC board. The examination of MHT CET conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Maharashtra will be based on the syllabus of 11th and 12th standard of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education.

There is only news that level of MHT CET exam will be increased there is no official notification yet. So, wait for the official notifiation.

You can prepare for the exam from your text book. Go through previous year papers and solve as many as mock test series to analyze your preparation level and to know your strength and weakness. So, you can work upon them.

I would say better to focus on your HSC books first as these will be making all your concepts strong and clear. Also, after completing your 11th and 12th syllabus concentrate on sample and previous year papers because both will help you to get idea about important topics and once you are done with all these better to follow other standard reference books which I am mentioning below -
