Hello Rajat,
Manipal Institute of Technology was ranked 12th among engineering colleges in India by India Today in 2017, 15 among engineering colleges by Outlook India in 2017 and 39 among engineering colleges by the NIRF in 2018.
You are required to clear their entrance test for being eligible for a seat in MAHE, The branch you get will depend on what rank you get in the exam.
It holds a good ranking in QS world rankings. It has good placement records. With students from 59 countries, Manipal University presents a global environment that facilitates the exchange of ideas and opinions from diverse cultures, enabling you to live a life that is truly inspired.
The university is ranked number 1 in India by the UI Green Metric World University Ranking and is ranked 27th globally.
According to there website, MIT is ranked #5 among private engineering schools. There are more than 18 engineering departments
It has a very good location, surrounded by hills, lakes and beaches are about 2 hrs journey by road from there.

----------------------------
The drawback that I consider is only that, the institute is very costly. Although they provide with very good world-class facilities, the fee is too high, as an estimate, it is around 17lacks for B.tech(4 years) including tuition and hostel.
Apart from all these if you have no choice left, and are willing to spend that much amount then, you should surely pursue this institute as it is not something you will repent in the near future.
Hope this helps.
Regards
