Hey,
Even though NCERT books are the backbone of JEE exams, you cannot learn everything from it because it is very concise. In order to get better insight into topics, you need some guide books and some high level question papers.
Good luck to you!
Hi Ashutosh!!
NCERT books are certainly not enough for JEE MAIN but it is compulsory to cover as many more questions are asked directly from especially in chemistry.
Going through the NCERT and some other books may help you to get a good rank. Do prepare from it but it is not enough to get a good rank.
Good luck.
Hello!
- NCERT is very crucial specially for chemistry. Read NCERT religiously and do not neglect its exercises as most of students do thinking “NCERT has easy questions, they are board types not JEE types”. Do NCERT exemplar as well if you can.
- If you are in some coaching then they will prepare you for category 3 questions. If you are not in any coaching and just focusing on boards only then read S L Arora for physics, R D Sharma for Maths and any good institute’s package for chemistry. You can also use standard books for JEE.
- The icing on the cake is that you won’t have to put extra effort for board exams if you follow point 1 and 2. Just solve previous year papers and go for board exam.
- Do give as many mock tests as you can. They are really very important.
- Remember that reading NCERT casually won’t help much. I have seen students reading NCERT and found out that they normally do it just for the sake of it. Don’t do that.
All the best!
Hope this helps!
