No NCERT is not sufficient for Chemistry in JEE Advanced, unlike JEE Mains. NCERT only provides a strong foundation in the subject. But Cracking JEE Advanced demands your expertise in the subject.
Besides NCERT some of the important study material you should follow are
1. Arihant Previous Years + Chemistry Handbook
2. Allen Chemistry DLP Materials
3. MS Chauhan Organic Chemistry
4. P Bahadur Numerical Chemistry/ Textbook of Physical Chemistry
5. OP Tandon Organic Chemistry
Besides this you should regular solve a lot of Chemistry Questions, Revise Concepts and make Notes. Trust me, its the notes which you make during course of your preparation which will finally help you on the day before Examination.
Hi! See , frankly speaking the chemistry NCERT is enough to get good rank in JEE provided you are extremely thorough with its text. But, it is really difficult to be extremely thorough with each and every line in NCERT, as it is written by people with vast knowledge in their field, and in Advanced. anything from the book, and sometimes beyond the book, based on your understaning could be asked, whether its an obscure diagram or a concept in the Appendix. So, I would recommend you to take some additional books, which will give you an edge over others. For Inorganic Chemistry, JD LEE is quite exhaustive, and VK Jaiswal has a huge set of questions. For Organic, MS chauhan is ideal for solving purposes, and OP Tandon for theory. For Physical, NCERT is usually more than enough for theory, but N Avasthi is really important if you want to practice. See, NCERT is good for knowledge, but these books will actually help you in practicing the exact kind of questions asked in Advanced, which I think is really important.
Hope this helped! All the best!
Ncert is important but is not enough for jee advanced. Ncert might be useful in jee mains but not enough for jee advanced. You should refer some good books for it. Although give ncert a read but dont completely rely on it. There are many good books available in the market for jee advanced. Ncert is nice to build a good foundation.
