See for getting yourself prepared for any exam you need to start from the beginning, the basics.
For NEET, yes you need to study NCERT first as this will make your basics clead and strong. Once your done with NCERT you need to bring uo your level and move on to other books which are considered to be of higher level as compared to NCERT.
You must also solve various previous year's paper and other MCQ'S of higher level to make sure you score more.
So reading only NCERT for cracking 600 plus marks in NEET, will certainly not help. Thus you need to study other books too and try solving last 10 years exam papers with fixed time limit
