NCERT is not bad for preparation but if you want to score good marks in exam you must be study from any other sources. Because from NCERT you can learn only basic ideas of any topic.

NCERT is good but definitely not enough and especially when it comes to Physics.
For Chemistry, you can go for only NCERT if you don't have much time to prepare and if you haven't prepared anything.If you can invest time that apart from NCETT,also read OP Tondon & RC Mukherjee.
For Physics, you cannot just rely on NCERTs, you must complete HC Verma and DC Pandey to ensure good marks and if you have not much time then go for HC Verma.

NCERT books are best for concept building and for grasping knowledge over the topics. But for cracking competitive exams you need to practise questions. Solve as many MCQs as you can.

NCERTs don't have enough questions in Physics. So you must take help of reference books for preparing Physics. NCERT Maths and Chemistry have enough number of question. If you prepare and solve all intext question, examples and exercise question from NCERT Maths and Chemistry then it is more than enough.
