NCERT books are best for concept building and for grasping knowledge over the topics. But for cracking competitive exams you need to practise questions. Solve as many MCQs as you can.
NCERTs don't have enough questions in Physics. So you must take help of reference books for preparing Physics. NCERT Maths and Chemistry have enough number of question. If you prepare and solve all intext question, examples and exercise question from NCERT Maths and Chemistry then it is more than enough.
