The NMC bill has made it mandatory for all Medical Graduates completing their MBBS in UP to work in rural service for a period of 2 years. While joining a Medical College, UP Students have to give a bond pertaining to this. The bond amount is 10 lakhs for MBBS/BDS. But in case you do not want to practise in the rural area after your MBBS, you have to submit 10 lakhs to the government of UP.

Hi Divyalok.

No, there is no such rule that a doctor would have to practice in government hospitals after completing their MBBS from a private college in UP. After graduating from your private college and getting the MBBS degree, a doctor has to intern for some time and then go for MD, if they want to. They can practice medicine after completing their MBBS too if they want.
