In Canada, GRE is required for master's level admission, and some universities and programs may need a good score in the test too. This test helps universities or colleges to measure the ability of applicants for advanced education. Students who intend to study business don't require appearing for GRE exam.

The Graduate Record Exam, or GRE, is a common requirement for admission into a graduate program of study. The GRE is a standardized test intended to determine a graduate school applicant’s likelihood of success in graduate education, at the Master’s or Doctorate degree level.

GRE requirements vary depending on the university or program of study. If the university requires the GRE as an application requirement, the requirement may be simply that the prospective student has taken the exam before applying. A program within the university, however, may require a specific score in order to be considered.

It is not completely necessary, as each university in Canada will have its standardised tests. Which means a particular university may ask for GMAT score, while another may ask for just IELTS or TOEFL. Hence, you should first confirm which university you want to apply to and the programme.



Majority of By schools will ask you to produce GMAT/ GRE scores.
