Hello,
NEET is mandatory only in case of following courses;
- Bachelor of Medicine and a Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS)
- Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS)
- Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (B.A.M.S)
- Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS)

Apart from aforementioned courses, NEET scores are also accepted for 15% AIQ seats for Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry(BVSc & AH), in states like Maharashtra it's accepted for Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT), from last year even admission into BSc Nursing is being done in various colleges such as JIPMER/GGSIPU/BHU to name a few, in institutes like Jamia Hamdard NEET scores are accepted for BPharm admission. in all these courses NEET scores are accepted however it isn't mandatory,
now to answer your question being PCB student it depends you're choosing which career path, if you're aiming for BSc Hons in any subject of your choice, BSc-MSc integrated courses, BS course for four years, BS-MS dual degree to name a few which are more academically inclined in the sense, then it's either done through entrance test conducted by the institute or it's based on the merit of the last qualifying examination, NEET isn't compulsory for every course, it depends entirely on what career path you want to pursue ahead, but yes in terms of pursuing medical courses as I have specifically mentioned above candidates need to appear for NEET, qualify the exam with required cut-offs against their respective category,
