Is NIT worth for MTech or should I wait for a year and give next gate and go for IIT
Doing MTech from IIT is also worthy, according to the national ranking it is having AAAA+ rating which is not bad, even if you have full confidence on yourself that you can score good in GATE after dropping an year and you can go for top IIT then you should go while it is not worthy to waste your one year, accordingly you can see the list of top colleges for MTech in a sequence, using the link provided you below:

Best of luck.
Hi Anant
If you are comparing the top NITs, and IITs, there isn't much of a difference, specially at the postgraduate level. However, if you are not getting a top NIT eg. Trichy, Warangal etc., and you can keep yourself motivated to study for an year, you should wait and go for an IIT (preferably Delhi/Bomaby/Madras/Guwahati/Roorkee/Kanpur/Kharagpur). For further higher studies, IIT would definitely be a big advantage while applying in foreign universities, however for industry, both NITs and IITs are comparable.
