Is opening and closing rank under each community is the overall rank obtained or is it community rank

Dear Harishankar,
Few of the all India exams have both AIR rank and category rank where as the State competitive exams have Common Rank. Here the category benefits will be given using that rank itself where as in other exams there will be different category rank.
For specific exam you can revert question with those details.
