Hi there!

To study Optics it is advisable, you brush up your knowledge in Geometry (Parallel lines, Angles, Properties of triangles, Similar triangles, Circles etc.) and Trigonometry what you have studied in Class 10. There will be substantial applications of these while you study Optics.

Practice ray diagrams for Plane mirrors, Spherical mirrors and lenses. Brush up Mirror and Lens formulas which you studied in class 10.

Study theory portion from HC Verma. It has been found that there is a good coverage of Ray Optics in DC Pandey Optics book with lots of good examples. Learn these in addition.

Solve problems from your coaching materials, HCV and DCP books.

After completing these, you study Simple Harmonic Motion (if not studied already). It will be required when you start studying Wave Optics.

Happy learning.
