In fact optometry and pharmacy, both are the great career choice.firstly you should consider your interest regarding the Field and then start focusing on what you feel sure about.I'm mentioning here some points related to optometry as well as pharmacy field.

Bachelor in Optometry,It is an undergraduate medical professional degree course in india.

To pursue for this course, one should passed 10+2level education with physics, chemistry, mathematics or biology.optometrist generally do following thing:Perform vision tests and analyze results, diagnose sight problems, prescribe eyeglasses, contact lenses, provide pre and post operative care to patients undergoing eye surgery, promote eye health and also counsel patients.

See,As a optometrist, you can work in hospitals under the opthalmologist or under the senior optometrist.you can join as a professor in many of the Colleges, etc.

But yes there is lot of hard work and dedication required in this career.

Pharmacy has its own popularity, and pharmacy also would be good career choice.

10+2student with science stream can pursue for pharmacy. It is also 4 years duration undergraduate degree course. And there is a good scope in various sectors like,

Healthcare sector,manufacturing sector,

Research and development sector. Also you can do job in government as well as private sector.

It is actually well reputed field.

So, As I said, think about your career interest first and then select the course

Hope this answer will help you.

Good luck!!!

Dear Akshita ,

Optometry is the healthcare profession of measuring vision, prescribes and fit lenses to improve vision, and detecting & treat various eye diseases” The name “Optometry” comes from the Greek words opsis that means “view” & metron that means “something used to measure”. .

Job areas with some of popular designation

  • Customer Care Associate
  • Private Practitioner
  • Professor
  • Trainee Optometrist
  • Vision Consultant
  • Optometry Researcher

Where pharmacy is the main courses in Pharmacy are the 2 years Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharma), 4 years Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm), 2 years Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm) and Ph.d programmes and it deals with the branch of health sciences that deals with the preparation and dispensing of drugs. Its aim is to ensure the safe and effective use of pharmaceutical drugs .

  • Dispensary Manager
  • Dispensary Pharmacist

So i preferred that pharmacy is good option rather then optometry but thats not means optometry is less options .They main motive in pharmacy is job vacancy is much more rather then  optometry .

Hope it will helpful

thanks
