is PhD valid for the post of lecturer or assistant professor job in government or private university
Hello,
There are 2 points to be noted in this case:
1. To be an assistant professor, not only having a PhD but qualifying the NET exam is also mandatory.
2. It is possible to be an assistant professor even without a PhD.
Candidates with PhD can also apply for the NET exam (and get 5% relaxation in score) and then become an assistant professor.
Hope this helps.
Thanks.
Of course. PhD is the highest level of educational degree you can have to achieve. So if you are applying in the area in which you have done your PhD then yes i am very much sure you can land a job as a lecturer or an assistant professor in government or private colleges. For government colleges, the notification is published in the employment newspaper
