The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a notice on March 5, 2018, instructing NIOS students and Private candidates on how they can fill the Class XI details in their NEET 2018 application form. From this year onwards, it is mandatory for all candidates to fill their Class XI details in the application form of NEET 2018. As per media reports, students from the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), state-level Open School Boards and Private candidates had expressed concerns regarding what they should fill in these fields, given that they directly write their Class XII exams without appearing in Class XI. The fields that candidates are required to fill for Class XI include the name of the school, year of passing and the complete school address. The CBSE has issued the new notice on the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) in keeping with the recent directives issued by the Delhi High Court as per which NIOS students, Private candidates and all other aspirants who were previously ineligible, have now been allowed to apply for NEET 2018.
