You get enough time to prepare for UPSC CSE in any course if you stay consistent. however if you are super sure about pursuing UPSC CSE it is advised to take ARTS (Humanities) in your 10+2 or graduation which are actually interrelated subjects to Civil Services but we have seen students from other fields crack it too, majority of which are engineers, so yeah, being a humanities or non humanities student is making less difference now.
Moreover if you feel like you don't have enough preparations before your exams after completing your graduation , you can take a year off and prepare with all of your body, mind and soul.

Good Luck!

Hello there!

Hope you are doing fine.

MBBS is itself a difficult course. It is 5 year degree program to become a doctor. If you want to prepare for UPSC along with MBBS, it may become difficult for you because subjects in MBBS needs more study time.

But many students prepare for UPSC with MBBS and also manage to crack it.

You will have 5 years for preparation of UPSC if opt for MBBS as a degree course.

Hope it helps.

stay safe.

Hello,

If you have a look at previous year toppers then yes you will find many medical science graduates, now pursuing MBBS or any other medical course is demanding, but you can appear for UPSC even after your graduation, that's not going to be problem at all, and moreover having medical Science as a career option is extremely beneficial in the sense you will also have a great back up plan, and this subject also feature in the list of optional subject in UPSC, and the syllabus of optional is equivalent to that of graduation, hence you won't face any such problems if you choose to go with medical Science, you will already be well acquainted with the subject, hence it becomes easier to prepare for this, generally candidates who have attained 21 years as on 1st August of the appearing year having completed graduation or appearing the final years are eligible to apply.
