Hello!

NO, these two Catagories are not same .

EWS stands for Economically Weaker Section in India. This is a subcategory of people belonging to the General Category having an annual family income less than 8 lakhs and who do not belong to any reserved category such as SC/ST/OBC (central list).

Whereas;

PWD stands for Person with Disabilities. Persons with disabilities having 40% and above degree of disability will get a 3% reservation horizontally in each of the categories, i.e. in SC, ST,OBC –A, OBC-B and in the Unreserved or General Category.

Hope this cleared your doubt.

Hi

No, both pwd and ews are different categories . Pwd category is for those who have disabilities of 40% and above and they enjoy a 3% reservation horizontally in each of the categories, i.e. in SC, ST,OBC A, OBC-B and in the Unreserved or General Category.
Whereas, EWS is a subcategory general category , it is for those who belongs to General category and have an annual income of less than Rs. 8 lakhs . Ews reservation is not applicable to any reserved category such as SC, ST, OBC. EWS certificate provides 10% reservation for the Economically Weaker Section in higher education all over the India and government jobs.
