Hi aspirant,
In order to write JEE Advanced one needs to qualify JEE Main first. To qualify JEE Main you have to obtain certain minimum percentile called cutoff score according to your category. The previous year cutoff percentile for various categories in JEE Main for JEE Advanced was as under:
- General..........89 percentile
- EWS..............78 percentile
- OBC...............74 percentile
- SC...................54 percentile
- ST ...................44 percentile
- PwD................0.11 percentile
In addition to this there are eligibility criteria based on following factors:
- Age limit
- Number of attempts
- Appearance in 12th (or equivalent) Examination
- Earlier Admissions at IITs
You have to satisfy all of them. Therefore, only qualifying JEE Main doesn't make you eligible to write JEE Advanced. You can read on all Eligibility criteria in detail by visiting the following link: https://www.google.com/amp/s/engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-advanced-eligibility-criteria/amp
All the best.
If you clear your cut-off criteria for your respective quota i.e general /obc/sc/stt category then you are eligible for sheeting in exam of jee advance conducted by IITs every year.qualifying Jee mains does not insure your seat in institute like NITs GFTIs and IIITs for that you have to secure good rank in jee mains.
Apart from this you can only sheet in jee mains twice.one time when you complete your 12th and one time again after 12th.

Hope this helps!
Best of luck for your future exams.
