Hi dear,
Hope you are doing well!
Now let's go through your question.
R.D.Sharma is a better choice for the start of preparation of JEE Mains as they comprises a lots of questions which is formula based and also some analytical problems. At last you should do previous years papers.
For JEE Advanced R.D. sharma is not much helpful.Because There are more analytical problems along with some formula based. you should have high analytical skill. For understanding the concepts you should try different books .But Don't try those which consists of much hard questions as it will demotivate you. TMH would be a better problem book as it consists of different problems according to different levels.
Some more books for Preparation of IIT JEE Maths:
Problems in Calculus of One Variable by I.A., Higher Algebra by Hall and Knight, IIT Mathematics by M.L. Khanna Trigonometry and Geometry Books by S.L. Loney, Maron and Differential Calculus by A.Das Gupta.
Thank You & All the best!

So, no doing RD Sharma might be a good reference book if you are preparing for 12th boards. Its jee mains you will have to give in a little extra effort and solve competitive books and jee mains modules.

Hi Parth Senghar,
I am a former JEE aspirant and I have cracked JEE Mains with a considerably good rank. From my experience R D Sharma is a practise book for the 12th-grade board mathematics and not for JEE Mains. You need to try tougher books and problems for this. I suggest Arihant as a good option.
RD Sharma is an essential book for practising Mathematics for JEE Mains. It has a variety of patterns of questions and give you a lot of good practise for cracking the Mains. Another Maths book that you can use is Mathematics for JEE by Arihant. The questions in this book are designed according to the pattern of JEE.
