First you need to know :

The candidates must have scored at least 60% in 10 +2 board examination or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.



I wont say that only NCERT is enough.You should be prepared from all the aspects and all the areas.And for that you cant just rely on ncert.Though if your preparation is good and you have strong base then it up to you.

I would just you to go through past year question to get the idea.

Directly you can't able to predict that only reading the NCERT will lead you to the good branch in your steamed campus/department of VIT University . Yaah basically the questions in entrance exams like SRMJEEE , VITEEE are based upon the NCERT level but inorder to crack those exams also you should have the Deep understanding of the subject as well  in the NCERT. So before the final days of the VITEEE apart from the revision of NCERT practice many number of set papers / previous year viteee paper which will help you a lot to understand the whole scenario of the entrance exam.
