If at the time of counselling they have mentioned the residence certificate as a necessary document then you will be asked to show your residential proof there. It may be because of domicile related reservations. For this you can either show your domicile certificate or your residential proof. If the document is not necessary then even the aadhar card can be used to provuide address or residence.
