Is robotic engineering a good career option? does it have scope, what does this engineer do other than making robots, does robotic engineering have same opportunities like mechanical engineering?

Robotic engineering is one of the most futuristic fields of study which has a huge scope of opportunity in the near future.
Robotics engineering as the term suggest is related to the use of artificial Intelligence and Computer technology to feed information to the human made machines called as robots such that they can perform the task as per their instructions.
Currently, there is not the same scope for robotic engineering as compared to mechanical engineering but companies like Tesla motors, space x, are some of those who are providing opportunities in this field.
