Is SIT, Tumkur (Whose NIRF 2019 ranking is 79) a better college to pursue Mechanical; in terms of faculty, placements and college?
Hello robin,
Well no doubt it is one of the finest colleges in karnataka, according to many reviews it is excellent when it comes to cse, ece department with packages going as high as 29 lacs per annum , though highest packages are more or less student dependent, for mechanical i would say its decent-average, decent faculty, good infrastructure , decent placement rates , companies visting include, otis elevatore ,godrej, L&t , continental and more , around 90% students get placed , average package ranges between 3-5 lacs per annum for mechanical. Also its a decent place for mechanical , comparison will depend upon the fact which other colleges you have in option since you have not mentioned any specific college to compare it with , if we compare it with thousands of colleges in india its definitely a decent place to be in for mechanical.
Hope this helps
Hi Robin,
SIT Tumkur is a well respected college in Karnataka and it's NIRF ranking is also below 100, which speaks about the institute's excellence. The infrastructure is great, though it is away from city. The study environment is strict and the faculty is dedicated and will force you to study. Hence you should have sufficient interest in your subject. Placements for CS/IT are too good with even companies like Microsoft, Samsung visiting. For other departments, it is just okay. Not many core companies visit, though all streams are eligible for MNC jobs.
All the best!
