COIMBATORE:
Bharathiar University
agreed to close down all its
franchisee centres
of
distance education
outside Tamil Nadu and file an affidavit regarding the same before the
Madras High Court
.
While hearing a writ petition filed by the Association of
Self-financing Arts, Science and Management Colleges of Tamil Nadu first
in February this year, Justice Pushpa Sathyanarayana J had ordered
Bharathiar University to file a counter. Following this, the
university’s counsel submitted a list of distance education centres that
it operated outside the state.
