I believe you are refering to the BS (Bachelor of Science, 4 years) Mathematics and Scientific Computing course at IIT Kanpur. It has a curriculum at par with the Engineering Courses at IITK or perhaps at par with the BS (Engineering) Courses in the United States. The curriculum unlike the flagship B.Tech Courses is less theory based and more research, practical and project based. After Department of CSE, Mathematics and Scientific Computing under Department of Mathematics has one of the best Placements in IITK, with most of the Top Companies in the Technology and Finance Sector like JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs, Flipkart, Morgan Stanley, Microsoft, Facebook, American Express recruiting students every year.
