Is the CLAT syllabus same for after school students and for after college graduate??
Hi,CLAT is abbreviated word for Common Law Admission Test. Twenty one National Law Universities combine together to conduct the Common Law Admission Test in rotation according to their year of establishment. The CLAT is conducted once every year and the time duration of the exam is 2hours.The score ranges from-50 to 200. The score of CLAT is valid for one year and there is no restriction in attempts. The syllabus of CLAT is different for undergraduate and postgraduate programme. For postgraduate programme Bachelor of Laws exam will be of 200 marks multiple choice questions of 1marks each. Out of which 40 marks will be for English including comprehension , general knowledge and current affairs will weigh 50 marks,elementary mathematics(numerical ability) will be of 20 marks,legal aptitude will be of 50 marks and logical reasoning will weigh 40 marks and there will be negative marking too 0.25 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer. Legal aptitude will test the candidates research and problem solving ability. Candidates have to assume the truth and answer accordingly. Elementary mathematics consists of maths upto class 10. In postgraduate programme maximum marks is 150 in which 100 multiple choice questions will be asked of 1marks each and 0.25 negative marking and 50 marks for essay writing 2questions 25 each on topics of law and contemporary issues. Syllabus includes constitutional law of 40 marks and 60 marks for other law subjects such as contract, torts , criminal law, international law IPR and jurisprudence .
