Is the NMAT tougher than the CAT?
Dear aspirant,
NMAT and CAT both have different pattern if exams. NMAT follows adaptive exam pattern but CAT has the fix question pattern. So both are different games and have different strategy.
If you talk in general no NMAT os not tougher than CAT. Mostly syllabus can coincide, for both exams, but the level is different. As the colleges the student are also different CAT has access to IIMs but NMAT doesn't. And if you have choice then most student would opt top IIMs over NMIMS. So you can work hard and work on the week area's and try to bring perfection in it. No exam is hard but the ingredients required for all exam is different, which include proper strategy, hard work, patience, giving mocks and self discipline.

NMAT is supposedly easier than CAT and more friendly entrance exam due to following reasons
- NMAT exam doesn't have any negative marking unlike CAT which gives students to attempt every question giving high probability to get the answers right
- unlike cat , you need to attempt the paper in a particular order hence it beneficial as u can start with your strength
- NMAT definitely does not have high order thinking(hots) questions like CAT.
- the number of aspirants for cat is more than that of nmat hence making the exam less competitive .
thank you
