Hi Aspirant,
The syllabus is almost the same. In the first year, MBBS and BDS have anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, but BDS also has an additional subject known as "DENTAL ANATOMY AND HISTOLOGY." It is the most exciting subject of the first year. Their practicals do differ in the first year; you'll have preclinical dental material and conservative dentistry. MBBS obviously won't have these.
In the second year, both of them will have pathology, microbiology, and pharmacology.
In the fourth year- MBBS has forensic, and BDS has dental material. Preclinical of prosthodontics and conservative dentistry is there.
In my opinion, BDS people study more because it's the MBBS part in addition to the dental component.
Besides, BDS doesn't have subjects like forensic, gynecology, obstetrics, ophthalmology etc.
