Government Medical College and Hospital, Aurangabad is one of the premier medical colleges in the state of Maharashtra and the biggest tertiary care hospital in the entire Marathwada region. Admission is based on a common medical entrance test (NEET) and other factors governed by the Medical Council of India (MCI), State and Central Governments. Government Medical College, Aurangabad is affiliated with Maharashtra University of Health Sciences. This college offers admissions into various programmes including undergraduate courses, postgraduate courses and diploma courses.
The undergraduate course for MBBS is for a duration of 5.5 years, which includes 4.5 years of classroom course and 1 year of compulsory internship and admission into this course is based upon the merit list that is prepared on the based on the score secured by the candidate in the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MH-CET). There are a total of 150 seats allocated each year with a course fee of 40,000 INR (approx.) per year.
In this course, reservations are given to candidates belonging to the SC/ST/OBC categories as per the norms of the Government of India.
