Yes there are a number of options in the government sector after you have completed your engineering from ECE branch. You can appear for IES and GATE through which you can get good jobs in PSUs and government organisations. Although the scope is not as much as for mechanical and electrical it is still sufficient enough. Hope this helps.

You can prepare for IES. Indian Engineering Service(IES) in ECE stream provides top class job in Government administration and you can easily reach a good position in 6–7 years of experience. Even in terms of pay and facilities, IES is considered the top engineering government job for ECE engineers. Different state governments also recruit ECE engineers like AE, EE, JE etc. into good positions, one needs to follow each state government’s notifications to get more details.
