There had been certain news about a bridge course which would make BDS grads capable of practicing as physicians in various hospitals throughout India, to increase clinical workforce in rural areas. But the validity of the course is not confirmed yet. The decision regarding this will be taken by NMC.

There have been discussions between Dental Council of India and Medical Council of India for a while now regarding Bridge course for Dental Graduates to become Medical Doctors. But nothing has been finalised atleast at this point in time. With NMC replacing MCI, this might actually take place. Please watch out for official information from NMC regarding this. .
