the shor answer is yes, there is, as per the government policy, 10% of seats will be reserved for GEN- EWS (General Economically Weaker Section). General candidates whose family has a gross annual income below Rs 8 lakh are identified as EWS.

For admission in State Medical Colleges/Universities/ Institutions for seats other than 15% All India Quota, the reservation policy of the concerned state government shall apply.The benefit of reservation under EWS can be availed upon production of an Income and Asset Certificate issued by a Competent Authority.
