is there any benifit for the students who hav non engineering backgrounds i.e( commerce) in taking admissions into iim's

hello aspirant,
see MBA is a vast area of studies. and there are lot of specialization of mba. so dont feel neglected as you are from a non engineering background. and there are also have some benefits which non engineering background student get during interview. and cutoff marks and 10+2++degree score expected from engineering student is quite high compare to other candidates. so prepare well and give your best shot during exam.
