Hello aspirant.
The National Medical Council of India has decided to impose bonds in some states according to which students taking admission in the medical colleges will be legally bound to execute a compulsory bond (1-5 years depending on the state), failing which they will be required to pay a penalty amount.
This rule goes for both government and private unaided institutions and not deemed universities. Yes, there is a bond in Maharashtra too, whether you take a seat through the 15% All India Quota counselling or 85% state quota counselling.
In Maharashtra, there is a 1 year rural bond and the penalty amount is 10 lakh. Students are required to sign a bond paper before taking admission in the college for the same.
As there is not much to learn clinically in the rural postings, students have filed various cases regarding the same in the high court, as this might discourage future candidates from opting MBBS as their career. All the best!
Hello dear,
Hope you are doing well
Yes, there is a bond for all India quota seats of Maharashtra. According to the rule of Indian Government, no bond can be applied on the All India Quota students in any state and most of the states follow this as well. But unfortunately, Maharashtra administration applies bond on All India Quota Students as well. Now talking about the Gujarat, the condition was challenged in high court and the AIQ students won the case. So, in Gujarat, no bond is applicable on AIQ students, neither in UG nor in PG. This applies to other states as well.
All the best for your future.
