DCI had proposed Medical bridge course between BDS and MBBS with duration of 3 years. As far as the eligibility criteria, B.D.S graduates recognised by Dental Council of India will only be eligible for bridge course.

But IMA has alleged the idea of bridge course and mid-level practitioners stating that there's no shortage of doctors in the country.

IMA has raised questions about the unemployment in the government sectors of the MBBS doctors who are not absorbed into post graduations.
