For 12th class in CBSE
There are a total of 10 Units in Physics. The unit one to ten are named as Electrostatics, Current Electricity, Magnetics Effects of Current and Magnetism, Electromagnetic Induction and Alternating Currents, Electromagnetic Waves, Optics, Dual Nature of Radiation and Matter, Atoms and Nuclei, Electronic Devices, and Communication System.
In the first unit, the third unit, fourth unit, sixth unit, and in the eight-unit, there are two chapters while in the second unit, fifth unit, seventh unit, ninth and tenth unit, there is one chapter.
In the syllabus pdf released by the CBSE board, the number of periods is also given to complete the syllabus. The first unit and the third unit should compete in 22 periods, the second unit and the fourth unit in 20 periods, the fifth unit in 4 periods, sixth unit in 25 periods, seventh unit in 8 periods, eight unit in 14 periods, ninth in 15 while the tenth unitin 10 periods. So, the total syllabus should be covered in 160 periods.

CBSE has also mentioned the weightage of the marks accordingto the units. Unit one and two posses 15 marks, unit three and four 16 marks, Unit five and six 17 marks, unit seven and eight 10 marks and the unit nine and ten contains 12 marks. So, in this way, the total syllabus is possed of 70 marks.
