In ECE you will study core subjects (Electronics segment) basically. While there are two subjects which are related to programming & algorithm (Data Structure & C ) and one subject which is related to networking (Data Communication Network). Here you will gain in-depth knowledge in your core subjects & will learn the basics of programming, algorithm & networking. In CSE you can gain expertisation in Programming, algorithm, software, web development and basics of networking. So Course structure wise ECE is more oriented towards electronics and CSE is oriented towards programming while basics of a few other subjects can be learned in both the branches easily.

If you are from ECE branch you will have a slight upper hand over CSE students in terms of job diversity. Most of the ECE graduates are offered jobs in the core (Electronics ), Software, Networking, and few management related works. While most of the CSE students prefer to go only for Software related jobs & Networking Jobs.

Both the branches Electronics and computer science are dependent on each other. A computer is useless without software and software is useless without a computer. But there is no such separate branch which combines both electronics and computer science into one.
