Is there any eligibility criteria like minimum years of Industrial experience or something like this rather than CAT or GMAT percentile?
No , work experience is just one of the critera in the admission process and it is definitely not the eligibility criteria for any college. Hope this helps!
Aurka there is no eligibility criteria for minimum years of work experience in any of the IIMs. Work experience is one of the parameters involved in making your aggregate score with some weightage generally around 5-10% in every IIM. Only eligibility criteria to appear in CAT exam is to have more than 50 percent of marks in 10th, 12th and graduation all the three exams. After that in order to get a call for the second round of GD and interview from IIM Calcutta, you need to atleast have 99.7+ percentile in CAT exam.
But getting percentile only is not sufficient as the merit list is based on the aggregate score which is based on different parameters such as CAT marks, 10th, 12th and graduation percentage, work experience, engineer or non-engineer, gender etc. whose weightage vary according to different colleges. So, you need to have an overall strong profile along with high percentile to get a call for the second round. After that, a new merit list is made including the marks obtained in WAT and interview. In this final merit list generally, Interview marks, CAT marks and WAT marks have the highest weightage and is used to offer admission to the college.
Feel free to ask if you have any more queries. All the best!!
