Thank you for putting up query in our platform. There is the lateral entry scheme which sets aside usually 10% of the seats in the Ist year of a branch towards lateral entry scheme for Diploma holders in the IInd year of the course. For example, if a student is pursuing Diplolma in EEE or ECE or IT then he/she is eligible for enrolment into EEE or ECE or IT in IInd year engineering. It works similarly for Mechanical and Automobile Engineering. As for Civil Engineering, there is no option, only Civil Engineering can be opted for in IInd year of Engineering.

Another way is to join Diploma in ECE, EEE or IT after 10th standard if a student wants to do Engineering UG in EEE, ECE or IT. Take Mechanical or Automobile if he/she wants to be a Mechanical or an Automobile Engineer. Take Civil if he/she wants to be a Civil Engineer. Get into an Engineering College thereafter through Lateral Entry.
